A Lurking Fashion Trend: Summer

I am always curious about what's coming up for Spring and Summer this time of year. After perusing the swimsuits online, I think it's safe to say that there is a trend that is trying to make a move into our lives just the way the skinny jean did. And remember, the skinny jean succeeded with many people, including this skeptic. This "new" trend one that is actually kind of...mature. Quite frankly. I gasped at every site and said out loud to no one but my computer, "Uh, no."

What is this trend?
It's everywhere.
And it's being marketed to people under 65.

There are some cute ones out there.
What if the swimdress isn't just for Grandmas anymore?
What if one would creep into my life the way the skinny jeans did?
Will I be trying one on?
I'm curious enough.
But am I old enough?!!!

  1. As an "older" person I think these look o.k. - some even cute - as a swimmer - not loving them - have tried the skirt over type when pregnant and they are harder to swim in - so I guess the bottom line is - for laying in the sun o.k. - for getting in the water - no way -

  2. And I am very much in the water! Such good advice!

  3. So is this a one piece? I'm not so sure about this look.

  4. For those of us who are (ahem) blessed with an abundance of curves, at least the swimSKIRT allows us to be at the pool without baring all...However, this swim skirt looks more like a swim micro-mini for people who need to add buld around the bottom...Not really my style! Hip Hip Hooray for summer!! (no pun intended) Amy S.

  5. I say yes! After 2 kiddos I don't feel comfortable showing my upper thighs. Don't ask me why, I don't know! I call myself a skinny fat person! I have worn a swim dress for about 3 years now and I love them. I have found some great ones from Speigel and Lands End makes some decent ones. They look like a sexy little black dress to me! Give it a try. I can't wait to explore your blog more!
