My friend, Sara, is having a baby girl in a little more than a month, or so.
She has two boys, and is joyfully anticipating a girl.
Truth be told, boy or a girl, Sara is thrilled to be having a third.
The three of us hosting the shower have had eight girls between us.
This is Sara's first girl, so we were all too eager to host.
Bless you, friend, for indulging us.
Friends came, and there was a lot of laughing.
Brown zebra print on baby girls?
So cute.
I should've taken a picture.
We served Cheesecake in a Jar. I used this this recipe but left out the crust.
If you're looking for something sweet to feed everyone and have friends who are gluten free, this is the perfect thing to make.
We served whipped cream (the real stuff), reese's peanut butter cups, nuts, a fudge sauce, and berries as toppings.
For some reason (namely the sunshine) I didn't do a picture of the entire table. This is the one shot from my phone.
Formal group shots at parties are kind of old school.
But if you don't take one, you will have to remember all the details.
I'm not so great about remembering...
These are some of the women we do every day life with.
I see them at church, the grocery store, at library time, getting snow cones, walking by my house, at school, and at the swimming pool.
They agreed to this photo because they didn't want to do a group shot at the pool. Go figure. I love each one of them.
I love you, Sara.
I'm going to love having a baby girl around again.
I want your daughter to see how we spent time waiting for her. Someday she'll wonder what in world we were all thinking with our wardrobe choices, but hopefully she'll also feel pretty loved.

By the way, this little one needs a name.
Do you have a girl name you'd be willing to share with Sara?
I'm sure she'd appreciate a unique (not weird) name that no one in our town of 3,000 has. How's that for specific? Thanks!
if I had another girl, I would name her Mary :-)
ReplyDeleteand now i need to go find cheesecake...
My youngest is Emilia (sounds just like Amelia) Grace. And I love the name Celia too! Congratulations to your friend :)
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is Elliana, but we call her Ellie.
ReplyDeleteThat cheesecake looks good!
Hi Kimberlee!!! My daughter's middle name is Siena. You'll have to let us know what she ends up naming her new baby.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting a great shower for my sister. Her baby will not be short on what to wear! HA! And way to leave off the crust - more room for the cheesecake!
ReplyDeleteI have a friend with two girls named, Sidda and Selah...the name Selah is taken from the Bible where the word is used as praise to God. I like both of them and they are unique. Sometime I would love to chatter with you about your trip to Deutschland. Someday we will take the kids...someday....
ReplyDeletep.s. notice your Ball jar with the name 'Perfect Mason' yeah, I got one of those at an antique store and filled it with Butterfinger BB's and gave it to Mason for his birthday the year we were engaged! :-) We also have the 'Strong Mason' and 'Ideal' Mason jars. Love them and the beautiful blue and blue-green glass ones.
we have 2 girls : Lillie Claire and Scarlett Rose. we love our little flowers !
ReplyDeleteHiya Kimberlee!
ReplyDeleteMy sweet girl is Evelyn Mae. Today in her gymnastics class I heard the roll call of Evelyn, Hadley, Stella, Bergin, Brogen, Mayan, and Elsie. Some super old school.... others trendy yet beautiful. Have a wonderful day!
OH! I dreamed of having another sweet girl for a long time.... with another old lady name.... Harriet (hattie)... Ella, Nora, Nella, Evangeline. EVANGELINE!
Have a great day!
Thanks for hosting such a beautiful, meaningful shower...I was so happy I could be there!
ReplyDeleteMy youngest is Haven Grace. Isn't grace a safe place to dwell? It's unusual (only met two others her whole life), but it is a real word, people can always spell it, and we are constantly told it is beautiful! In fact, a family friend just named her daughter that because of my daughter's name. I was so flattered!
ReplyDeleteI love Ruby! My mother in law has a puppy named ruby though, so we won't be using it for any babies! :)
ReplyDeleteMy oldest daughter's name is Leandra. (lee-ann-dra) At her first well-baby check-up the nurse called for "Lean-dra". I was not very happy about that. My second daughter's name is Marissa! Both are as beautiful on the inside as on the outside!!! Although Marissa is fairly common, I have never met or heard of another Leandra.
ReplyDeleteI have two daughters- Arabella and Ivy. If we would have had a third daughter, her name would have been Jobyna (after the silent film actress, Jobyna Ralston). Too weird? ha! Congratulations to your friend and her family! Love your blog!!
ReplyDeleteMy girls names are Ingrid Annette and Elodie Adele (Elodie pronounced like Melodie without the M!) Not unheard of names but not overly common either.
ReplyDeleteDelaney, Maeve, Charlotte
ReplyDeleteMy newest grandgirlie (8 weeks old) is named Vivian Hope ... I think it's lovely ... WV is no where near Kansas so Sara is welcome to use it ;) Good luck to your friend & her sweet baby girl ... the shower pics were lovely ... looks like you have a great group of friends Kimberlee ... thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I like unique names, but not weird. Our daughters are Delaney Faith & Sylvie Joy.
ReplyDeleteMy baby girl's name is Julia Tirion. I love it and it makes me so happy. Amen.
ReplyDeleteI think Reagan would be perfect for the Wichert baby girl.
ReplyDeleteMrs. B.
I love Sloane... tried to get my kids to use it but alas mine used Abigail Paige... cute too
ReplyDeleteAxl, Diesel, Garnett, Rondo, Pierce, RayRay
ReplyDeleteI think that S. Tyler is on to something! Maybe not Garnett but how about Ruby?
ReplyDeleteI don't have a name for Sara. Blessings to Sara. Just wanted to say it sooo special seeing all those faces. Hi to Char D. Love, Janice
ReplyDeleteWe named our daughter, Peyton Jane. She was almost Barrett Claire or Barrett Kate. We also loved Emerson. How about Lena or Lila or Sabina or Sabra (all names of little girls I know).
ReplyDeleteHere's the girl name I was vying for in my house...Charlie. (Maybe Charlotte and Charlie for short...maybe not, I don't know...we'll never know). Eric squelched it and I suppose Brianna was the better choice, but can't you just imagine a curly haired blondie named Charlie running around the yard? :) Can't wait to hear the name Sara!
ReplyDeletei have two daughters (and four boys) - macy ann and paige elizabeth. they are both super sweet girls. feel free to borrow either one of those names! xo

ReplyDeleteHow fun! I just helped host a baby shower with two other girlfriends for our friend who has two boys and is expecting a girl! It was such fun to bring everyone together for a pinktacular party!
ReplyDeleteWe always had Merrill Cate (or Meryl) on our favorites list, as well as Bethany Cate and Natalie Louise...
I love my full name Daisy Mary and my sister's Liberty Grace, we're both in the UK and they're both unique over here!
