Basil to Basel {I'm in Europe}

On Friday morning I planted my basil, and on Friday afternoon I boarded a plane that would take me to another plane, that would take me to another plane, that would take me to Basel. That's Switzerland.
I had waited for about 8 months for this day to get here. The day I would see my friend Molly and her husband, John, who are living in Germany.

This Germany...right outside my window.
For my first meal here, we walked into town for a little local fare.
It is Germany, after all.
Steak with onions and garlic butter.  It was one of the best meals I've eaten in a long time. After that, I went home and went to bed. It takes a few hours to get here, and I was zonked.

On Sunday we drove to church over in Switzerland, and God gave me the sweetest gift on Mother's Day by getting to meet this little boy and his Mom.
After church we drove to a little town in France called Kaysersberg.
I kept thinking I needed to pinch myself.
Creme Brulee.
In France.
On Mother's Day.
Other than French mothers, who does that?
We took a winding path up a tall hill to the castle ruins.

 It was close to sunset and the view was spectacular.
When I crawled into bed last night, I felt like I had so much to say to God. I was exhausted, but my heart was filled with so much thankfulness for the beauty of the day. I knew it was going to be a great one, but I had no idea how beautiful the details would be. I love a great gift, and this was one I will treasure for a long, long time.
