A Bicycle Made for Six

One afternoon at the beach the six of us rented one of these.
A bicycle made for six...a surrey without the fringe on top.
Bruce drove the thing. The steering wheel on the right is fake. Something just to hold on to. Something to make you think you have some sort of control when you have none. I don't know how many times I was turning and nothing was happening. (There's a life lesson in there somewhere isn't there???)
The girls loved every minute of the hour that we had it.
We drove all over Carolina Beach in this thing.
I loved seeing the beach houses.
Can I get away with a hot pink door in Kansas?
Loved it.
This one is for sale.
We considered a purchase, then sadly moved on.
I suggested a stop for a drink.
We were working up a sweat for goodness sakes.
Drive-thru, anyone?

I laughed so hard...with real tears.
The employee at the drive thru window said they get this a lot.
Of course they do.
Tourists...
I love this picture for so many reasons. Most of all because my Dad's ice cream headache is captured forever.
Our hotel is the tall building in the background.

Ella waved at everyone she saw in the final stretch.
We loved our little surrey.
But we had to get back to what we came to do.
Which included oh so much more of this.
I love the beach, and I loved riding a bicycle made for six.
I found this today online and am adding this to our Christmas list. :)
I think riding around our little town together could be so much fun for our little family.
I wouldn't mind being known as "THAT family who has THAT bicycle."
In fact, I would love that.

and on a vacation in canada a few years ago, my bff and i rented mopeds - we TOTALLY did the same thing - we scootered through a mc donalds drive thru and got soft serve cones. SO hilarious right?!?! one of my best vacation memories ever.
