Ripped in 30...the final review

Okay, so I started the month of April doing Ripped in 30.
Here are my thoughts:
1. I lost weight...three pounds.
2. I lost 3.5 inches overall.
3. I went back to my Shred notes and found that I lost the same amount of inches in my hips, arms, and legs. (Actually, I gained in my legs. Again.)
4. I lost two more inches on my waist with the Shred than I did with Ripped.
5. I did the Shred every day for 30 days.
6. I took one day of rest a week for a total of four breaks for the month of April.
7. I am incorporating the Shred into my workouts.
8. I will not put Ripped away just yet.
9. I have Jillian's 6 week six pack workout in my Netflix que because I live in reality.
Is my sarcasm translating? I'd settle for a two pack right now.

How I really feel...
Overall, I am feeling strong even though my results are not staggering.

I am not disappointed with the results of the Ripped in 30 dvd.  I feel like it got me back on track after taking a very long exercise hiatus. And if Jillian is known for anything, it's giving people a kick in the butt to get them motivated, so I guess I can thank her for that. I can also thank her for not biting me.  I couldn't take that comment. One. More. Day.

Thank you to my awesome email support group. I would have "phoned it in" by day three if it weren't for you: Tracy, Amanda, Carisa, Meg, Megan, Karen, Kimberly, Sara and Nic.

And now because I'm curious, tell me, what are you doing to get in shape this Spring? And please don't tell me that you have to lift weights to put on weight, or that you're naturally just long and lean. I already sleep next to a man who is exactly like that. Finding out that there are women made that way too could send me on a three hour drive to the nearest Cheesecake Factory.
Seriously.

What's your workout of choice?
And how do you stay motivated?

  1. I'm really loving Zumba right now! I feel completely uncoordinated at times, but it's a lot of fun and I enjoy the challenge of trying to do all the different moves. As for motivation, well, that comes and goes, but it's certainly better when I have friends to workout with. :)

  2. I have done several workouts in my lifetime, from Buns, abs, legs of steel to Denise Austin, the Shred, etc. But the one I always go back to is Tae bo. It's the one I enjoy the most. It doesn't completely kick my butt, which keeps me from dreading the workout everyday, but it seems to work the best for me with keeping weight under control better. I gained weight and inches on Shred...not sure how that happened. Got back to Taebo and lost the pounds and inches. Also all the kicking and punching is a good stress reliever for me. Lastly, you can make taebo as easy or hard as you want by using weights, bands, etc or not. Taebo is a little dated but has been my go to work out for years.

  3. P90x---for the third round. 6 days a week....kicks my behind. But the results are unlike anything else I've tried. Period.

  4. i'm TRYING to make myself run. and do abs/weights with the hubs. its hard here b/c running by myself isn't real safe and hubs usually gets off after dark... when again, running's not so safe...

...i'll meet you at cheesecake factory. ;)

  5. I did an insane amount of squats after I got back from Great Wolf...now I'm just regretting it and sore :). I may just have to give in to the swim skirt. In a perfect world I would run MWF and lift weights T and Th. That's if I can get my butt out of bed in the morning. Jillian drives me nuts so I can't handle her videos!
