Hob to the Lob

Because it's Monday...
Because Jillian, "TV's toughest trainer" has been barking at me for four days...
Because the living room is nearly finished being painted...
Because my carpet is getting stretched today and cleaned tomorrow...
Because mostly my "to make" list is longer than I have time for, and I desperately wish that I were crafting today...
I'm giving away a $25 gift card to....

To enter leave a comment with the following information:
Name someone you appreciate, then say why.
Naming me will get you disqualified.
One entry per person.
The winner will be chosen randomly on Tuesday evening at 9 pm (CST)
and announced Wednesday morning.

I'm in the mood to appreciate people this week.
There are so many people that make my little life seem large.
More to come on that in the days to come.
In the meantime, why don't you copy and paste what you wrote about that
appreciated someone and email it to them?
Who wouldn't love to get that in their inbox today?

See you tomorrow for the announcement of the winner!

  1. Wow! What a great giveaway! I appreciate so many people it's really hard to pick just one. Today, because I know he has a tough day, I'll pick an obvious one-my husband, Scott. So many reasons, but I'll spare the details and focus on the fact that he always (WITHOUT ME ASKING OR TELLING HIM) takes care of the kids and runs interference when I have too much to do. He works tirelessly at work and devotes a great deal of his spare time to our church. And still spends as much time as he possibly can with the family. I could go on (he dusts and vacuums more than I do!), but I'll stop there for today:)
I'm not going to say "I appreciate you" for fear of being disqualified, but I really do enjoy reading your blog:)

  2. I appreciate my grandma. She recently made me these two beautiful tea towels and even though she has done SO much for me, those tea towels nearly made me loose it. I love them...and her.

  3. I appreciate my daughter, Jessi. She has had a rough weekend. She is sweet. She is fun. She keeps me in touch with my girly side. If I won this gc, I would take her with me so she could help me spend it!

  4. I appreciate my husband. He gets me out of bed in the morning to workout...something I wouldn't do if he wasn't so darn disciplined. BTW, I can't find Jillian anywhere. Boo. Maybe tomorrow I will find her. So i'll have 30 days till my 38th birthday, same thing right?

  6. Hmm, at this time in my life I am appreciative of so many people. But I think I'll pick my parents. I attribute where I am today to much of their guidance and discipline. They laid the foundation for so many things in my life.

  7. I appreciate my dear husband, Phil. I am not the best cook in the world and on nights when I try a new recipe he blesses the meal with, "Thank you Lord for Naomi's willingness to try new things..." Ha! That covers good food and bad!

  8. I appreciate so many people, but right now, I'm going to appreciate baby Hazel (my sister's 4-day old), and her safe arrival into this world. My nephew's birth was surrounded by a lot of heartache and a flurry of worry, and we've all been apprehensive about the second birth and how it would turn out. Very quick and "easy" as my sister would say. Praise the Lord! She's a sweetie!

  9. Today is my Granny's 88th birthday. As she's aged, she often repeats herself and shares many of the same stories - but you know what, she's ALWAYS so excited to hear my voice. She's one of my biggest cheerleaders in life. Over the past few months, it's occurred to me that she won't always be around. So today, on her 88th birthday, I appreciate my Granny.

  10. Like so many have said before, I have many people in my life that I'm appreciative of. But today, I'm going to say I'm thankful for my dear friend Angela. With our kids being so close in age, she's a great sounding board. And, on days when I think I might lose my mind, she calls and asks if we can get together...what a blessing!

  14. I appreciate my husband. About a year after we moved, I suffered a bout of major depression and my husband picked up the slack when I could not. He made sure I got the help I needed and truly loved me as Christ loves the church. I know he will be there for better or worse. He's a wonderful, strong husband and a loving dad to our son.

  15. I appreciate my mama for keeping me sane from the other side of the world. She's a constant source of encouragement when I think I've had all the Africa I can handle.

And when I'm back in the States **in LESS THAN SIX WEEKS**, I would looooove to spend this gift card!! :)

  24. I love that you say you would rather be crafting when not so long ago you didn't craft at all - love it!

I appreciate my sister, Barb because she always makes me feel loved and cared for - last week when I went to visit her she warmed up my car in the morning and packed my lunch with a special note that I didn't see until lunch time!

  26. Today I am so appreciative of the people who help me in my classroom. An ELL aide, a para and a woman from the community that just wanted a classroom to volunteer in. 4 adults in my classroom for 30 minutes of writing time?! Those are my favorite days! :)

  33. I, along with almost everyone above, appreciate so many people. But I am especially appreciative of my 2 kids, Carsen & Madelyn. I am a mom and a wife who is still learning to be completely selfless, and my kids seem to always forgive and forget very quickly, even when I make the most stupid of mistakes! :)

  34. Wow thanks for offering up this awesome giveaway.
One of the people I appreciate the most is my husband. We started dating when I was 15 and got married at 19. We have been married almost 9 years. He is one of the kindest and most forgiving people I have ever met. He is the best daddy to our 3 kids. He is more than I could ever deserve. After being with him for 12 years, he still gives me butterflies.
