The Butchart Gardens

When I told people that Bruce and I would be spending time in British Columbia this summer, nearly everyone said, "You have to go to The Butchart Gardens."

This was my first view of the sunken garden. It doesn't even look real, does it?

La-la-la lovely.

I want lights like these in my dream backyard.

I want to grow roses on arbors like this in a land where the sun doesn't scorch them.

These are Tuscan Suns. I've tried to grow them without success. Maybe I should try again.

Everything about the gardens was spectacular. Bruce was looking for weeds. He didn't see any, and we were there for five hours! Impressive. Do you know what else is impressive? The trash cans. They have flower displays on each one, and they are all different.

We couldn't resist stretching out on the grass.
So soft. Not poky like our grass at home.
More from the gardens tomorrow---with a spot of tea.

  1. It's definitely one to put in the memory bank for the Winter! Gorgeous! And I think you should frame that picture of you and Bruce. That is the BEST memory. :)

  3. I think that is an example of "the earth rejoicing"! You know, roses like Kansas too. Have you and Bruce ever been to Stone Creek nursery in Hesston? Janice
